Keratin is the primary protein of the skin, hair and nails. This
natural substance gives hair the ability to return to its original
healthy, shiny and smooth state.
Can the keratin treatment be applied on virgin, permed, relaxed,
straightened, coloured, bleached or highlighted hair?
Yes, the keratin treatment can be applied to ANY hair and over ANY
previous chemical treatment.
Is this treatment a permanent straightener?
No, your hair will not be permanently straight after this treatment.
The keratin treatment will gradually fade out over time. It is
semi-permanent not permanent, although some people have sometimes called
it a permanent blowdry because it last so much longer than a normal
blowdry. You will still need to blowdry your hair if you like your
hair to be straight, but the amount of time required to style your hair
will decrease dramatically. The treatment will soften the curl so when
the hair is blow-dried using a brush and a blow-dryer the hair will
straighten out a lot easier.
When can I colour my hair?
Hair can be coloured either 2 days before the service or
alternatively 2 days after.
How long does the treatment last?
It will last two to four months, depending on the hair type. The
Brazilian hair straightening lasts longest on chemically treated hair like coloured or
relaxed. On virgin hair the results will last longer after the second or
third application. Finally the treatment fades progressively as hair is
washed. It last longer if you was your hair once or twice per weak as
apposed to washing your hair every day.
How long should I wait before washing my hair after the treatment?
Unlike other treatments,
with this Brazilian Blowdry you will not have to wait several days
before you can wash you hair. Once the treatment is complete you can shampoo and treat your hair as
normal on the same day.
You also no longer have to avoid the rain or gym. You can tie you
hair back wear a ponytail, clips or a hat. All these were not possible
before the formula was improved.
Will swimming affect my KeraStraight treatment?
No, as long as you shampoo your hair directly after swimming, to
remove any chlorine or salt from the hair.
How long does the process take?
Usually between 2-4 hours depending on hair length & type.
What shampoo must be used before and after the treatment?
After the treatment you will need to use a shampoo and conditioner
which is Sodium Chloride free and which we have available. This shampoo
will not strip the Keratin from the hair and will help to maximise the
longevity of the keratin treatment.
